RECAPTURE HISTORY! WITNESS HISTORY UNFOLD! Your Living Water Transition Team has been busy. We have now met 3 times. The plans are coming together for our “History Day” on Saturday, January 24, 2009. We will begin with a BBQ dinner at 5:00 PM. After dinner, we will recapture and discover our history – together – all of us!
You may be thinking or asking:
Whether you have been a member of Living Water for many years, or whether you are a new member, it’s important to attend “History Day.” We will talk about the significant events in your life as it relates to the history of Living Water. If you choose to do so, you will have an opportunity to tell your story. It’s your own personal stories of Living Water that add significance as to why you are here. You will also have an opportunity to participate in the development of the chronological history of our church. This will be done by constructing a huge timeline on the walls of the church. Important events to you, and our church, will be marked on the timeline by you. If you have been here awhile, you will recognize many of the events that have shaped Living Water. If you are newer to the Congregation, you will see history unfold before your eyes.
The goal of “History Day” is to discover and define “who we are.” It’s your own personal stories and memories that will define “who we are.” So you see, without you, we have no history. What brought you here? Why are you still here? Our bet is that something significant brought you here – and keeps you here As we transition together, we need to define “who we are” and “where we have come from.” We can’t do it without you – that’s right, YOU. Please plan to attend “History Day” on January 24th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. You will be glad you did! |
