and dates for upcoming events.
Transition
Process: Much
has happened at Living Water since our last formal Transition
Communication. In the first communication, we outlined the 5
Pastoral Leadership Transition Steps provided by the ELCA Grand
Canyon Synod. As we move into Step 3, the Church Council wanted to
provide you an update on our progress to date and the next steps as
we move toward identifying our new Senior Pastor.
The Landscape work in front of the Church continues. The committee has worked hard to complete this project before Palm Sunday. Friday, the floral area around the fountain was planted by the "Friday Morning Club". The outdoor furniture that was selected by Carol Jacobson and Bonnie Moore was delivered and set up on Thursday, April 2nd. The remainder of the Landscape committee, Dave Hutchinson, Mark Thompson and Jack Kifer have been working diligently on the new plantings, rock accents, trees and more. It looks great and we know that the members will enjoy this for some time to come.
As the building is completed, the next phase will be to complete the playground and our Committee of the Smith's and the McGaugh's will be selecting the items and placing the order for delivery early this summer.
The individuals listed below are the
Nominees for the Call Committee for the purpose of beginning a search
for a new Sr. Pastor. These nominees will be presented to the
Congregation for a vote of approval on March 22, 2009.
In late February the masonry work began on Living Waters Second Story Addition to the Education Building. The following are photos of the beginning of that work.
On February 18th, the concrete block has begun to be added to the building to start the second floor. Footings are poured for the extension on the ends of the building for the elevator shaft and stairwells. Great progress!
